History of Thompson Angus

Greetings from Thompson Angus! We are in our 28th year of A.I. breeding and have been selling purebred Angus bulls for over 30 years. Take a look at our selection of bulls as they are out of top A.I. sires and dams, which are also out of A.I. sires. The bulls are taken from the top 25% of our bull crop. The majority of our cow herd traces back to two of the most influential sires in the Angus breed, Pine Drive Big Sky and New Trend.

How Our Cattle Are Run

The cow herd runs on native prairie grass and hay in the wintertime. We do not feed silage to the cows or bulls. The bull calves are developed with soundness and high fertility in mind. The bulls are bucket fed twice daily with corn, oats, dry distillers grain and free choice long stem grass hay. This makes the bulls gentle and allows them to gain evenly without ruining their feet and insures high fertility.
